Changelog
What's new in each version (smaller updates in
between are gathered into the next one). Many changes start as
feedback; follow along with the
changelog feed, in einkreader of course.
Public feedback and smoother X
- Share ideas and bugs with everyone from the app, reply in threads and react with emoji.
- A brand page with logos and images at einkreader.app/brand.
- X bookmarks are fetched 10 at a time, and only as far back as needed.
- Fixed signing in to X on e-ink devices getting stuck in a loop.
- Only new bookmarks are fetched; the debug log is quieter.
- Tapping a link opens its menu instantly, even offline.
- Errors that need X reconnected offer a button to do it.
- The Read tab is sorted by when you read each article.
- Links to X posts show the post itself; more articles extract cleanly.
- Resume reading sits below the filters and shows only what they select.
- Problems with X are explained in plain sentences.
- A source that fails to update shows a warning, and X can be reconnected from its feed.
- Articles from table-based sites (like paulgraham.com) extract properly.
- Paragraph breaks and list lines survive in quotes.
- Sharing a highlight closes the dialog at once and publishes in the background.
Public pages and a calmer app
- A button at the end of an article shares all your highlights from it.
- Articles show whether they're downloaded; the Read and Highlights tabs filter by source.
- A short tweet sharing a link brings in the linked story.
- Clear messages when you're offline, everywhere; an Advanced section in Settings.
- Stray style code no longer shows up as text in articles.
- Tables in articles render properly.
- Settings are organized into sections, one screen each.
- Small fixes to how profiles look.
- Hidden page content stays hidden; highlights work across bold text.
- A clearer profile editor.
- Pages without a declared encoding no longer show garbled accents; copy an article's link from the share menu.
- The profile screen mirrors your public page, with an editable address.
- Simpler public profile pages with a link for each story, and ways to subscribe.
Search, every X bookmark, several profiles
- Use several profiles and switch between them, each with its own library.
- Writing a note and sharing a highlight happen in one place.
- Long tweets keep their paragraphs and lists.
- Narrow search results by source, author and more.
- Search across sources, authors, titles, content and highlights.
- Filter X bookmarks by author.
- Your whole X bookmark history is imported, resuming where it stopped.
A new home and your own email address
- A redesigned home screen; swipe right on an item to read it.
- Highlighting is instant, with a menu right where you tapped.
- A free name@einkreader.app address, and a public page for your highlights.
- Email articles to your reading feed.
- X threads arrive whole, with their images.
- Saved articles are organized by year and source.
- Fixed the app failing to open after updating to 0.2.0 (no data was lost).
Nostr, folders and sharing
- Follow Nostr profiles: their notes, long reads and bookmarks.
- An optional public profile to share highlights with comments.
- Anything that can't be sent right away waits in an outbox.
- Newsletter calls to action are hidden in articles.

- Save links found inside articles to read later.
- The app remembers where you stopped reading.
